Notably, he led BP's upstream and downstream businesses in Turkey for close to five years, served as an advisory board member with The British Chamber of Commerce of Turkey, and has held non-executive directorships. His international career brought him to the UK in 2012.

He has an MBA from Boston University and speaks English, Turkish, French and Spanish.
